La poesía sensualista de Baudelaire: entrecruce de la interioridad y el mundo

Abstract

Charles Baudelaire’s poetry is loaded with a great amount of corporal relations, configuring the body like a great receptacle of stimuli that finds in the senses the greater motor of its creation. This vast sensualistic content can be analyzed from some key corporal phenomenological concepts developed by French philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty such as perception, ‘flesh’ and ‘chiasmus’. An analysis of this kind allows us to understand the way in which interiority and world experiences intersect, thus creating a world where the subject and the object are no longer taken as distant actors, but rather merged into each other, while at the same time unraveling the high spiritual content of Baudelairean poetry, this latter one commonly dismissed as immanentist.
