Nadia Villafuerte is a Mexican writer from the state of Chiapas, located in the south of the country. With a short but significant literary work, made up of two books of short stories and a novel, he has received positive acceptance in terms of literary criticism. Its main themes are recurrently mobilized around the border and themes that could be satellite: the day to day, structural violence, gender violence and issues related to migration. Considering that the border is one of the main elements of her narrative, this research aims to analyze the way in which border elements transcend their materiality, the worn image of a border wall that divides countries, in the story "Grillos" from the book ¿Te gusta el látex, cielo? from 2008. The representations of the border in Villafuerte go beyond its material representation, since it is possible to see the problems of the topic symbolized in different aspects of everyday life, such as relationships, in one's own personality and in the communicative field.
