Abstract

Taking into account the theoretical approaches made by Rosalba Campra (1991) and Rosemary Jackson (1986) about fantasy literature and its modes of discourse, this work aims to address the way in which Francisco Tario constructs the stories "El mico" and "Entre tus dedos helados"; in which, through an interesting use of narrative silences, the author manages to expose two topics that are quite controversial for society: unwanted motherhood and incest. This is also possible, thanks to the construction of rather peculiar narrator "self", who build themselves in conjunction with their complex plots, and manage to make these sensitive issues manifest for the society in which they arise, making the text a subversive space in front of our "reality"; where the monstrous and the sinister take the center stage.
