Abstract

The Mexica gods have been a subject of fundamental research within the traditions for thinking Mesoamerican societies. A founder prejudice heard inside of these models: the descriptions in the chronicles allow recreate and analyze the mythological world. This article aims to make a shift in place to understand the phenomenon aims to historicize the category and analyze their transformations in order to understand what was the basis that allowed to write about other mythologies as part of the invention of America and so understand how he enrolled the twilight of the Mexica gods in chronic issued by the conquest.
