Abstract

The following work aims to analyze the importance of literary and film markets in the development of the last decades of the 20th century, and the relationship they established as a tool to support the consolidation of what is known as “Boom literatura” in Latin America. Thus, I make a brief overview of the main events in both arts, since the mid-twentieth century and, mainly, in the sixties and seventies. Finally, I focus on film and literature in Mexico, where some representative authors of the time, such as Carlos Fuentes and Gabriel García Márquez, create the scripts and adaptations of some of their most successful works, an aspect that favored both markets.
