Espacios ficcionales: la ambigüedad de los límites en las narraciones fantásticas. Acercamiento a “La caricia más profunda” (Julio Cortázar) y “Mis vecinos golpean” (Abelardo Castillo)

Abstract

This article looks at the work of Julio Cortázar and Abelardo Castillo, two contemporary Argentinian authors. The goal is to show how the fantasy, in “La caricia más profunda” and “Mis vecinos golpean”, is related to the spatial boundaries which are introduced by the narrators and transgresses the characters; ambiguous and diffuse limits can be perceived in both stories.  In “La caricia más profunda” by Cortázar, the character that is gradually sinking into floor without a rational explanation and it seems to be that nobody nearby notices it. In the case of “Mis vecinos golpean” by Castillo, it is the presence of sounds heard through the wall that begin to question and demand the characters on the other side.
