Lo grotesco: nuevas perspectivas de lo orgánico en el trabajo del artista visual Chivocaprino

Abstract

The urban artistic expression in Chihuahua city manifest a plurality of senses that haven't been studied by the regional critic, since it focused in the native peoples artistic productions, without a aesthetic preoccupation for the new artistic proposals. Through the work of the visual artist chivocaprino it evidence a tendency of a new expression of the grotesque; making use of the exaggeration of organic elements. Those elements are used to generate a sensation of abjection in the spectator, that could be analyzed from different optics, broadening the perspective gained when approaching the work. Interpreting his work as a new approach to reality through the body; setting up an aesthetic of the brutal.
