By literally realizing the metaphor proposed by Roland Barthes about the author's death, the marginalia of the man who killed the author of one of the greatest masterpieces of Brazilian literature, Os Sertões: Campanha de Canudos, creates a book within the book, establishing an unlikely dialogue between the writer Euclides da Cunha and his reader Dilermando de Assis.
